Global Threatz

At Threatz we are extremely interested in the breadth of potential threats to the global populations, the evolution of those threats and the connections between them. We have noticed that the perception and attention given to some is out of all proportion to the real risks.

At the same time we know that estimating some of these risks is extremely difficult and even expert assessments are problematic. Global Threatz is therefore our attempt to use 'the wisdom of crowds' to understand and generate good estimates of risks/impacts for the range of potential Threatz which we face.

We categorise all major scale events into one of eight main categories:
  • Natural Disasters
  • Terrorism
  • Resource Limits
  • Political Turmoil
  • Economic Turmoil
  • Health and Diseases
  • Social Upheaval
  • Technological Change

Within each are a variety of specific Threatz, with geographic and timeline dependencies. Visitors are asked to assess particular scenarios and results across many groups of people are combined intelligently to derive a consensus view. In addition visitors are asked to contribute their comments, links and opinions.

We will shortly be opening up this structure of Threatz for free access in involvement. Check back soon.
